our resident highland cows
Freya
The sweetest, but most shy of the gang. She’s going to be a gorgeous cow, with her rare ombré coat. Freya was also raised from a baby, here on the farm, and is finally ready to have her own next year. She loves her sister Leia, and battling with Lenny, to prove who’s going to take bottom of the totem pole that day.
Leia
Named after Princess Leia from Star Wars, this black heifer is a personal favourite. Leia was raised from a calf here on the farm and is finally ready to start growing her own in 2025. Her and her sister, Freya, are best friends and always found together. Leia is a super special black with touch-of-red, making her almost purple in certain light.
Ruth
The Matriarch of Yonder Highlands. Ruth is the largest and most iconic looking Scottish Highland cow that we’ve ever come across. With her light reddish fur and perfectly curved horns, she’s been featured in media all over the world. Ruth tough but fair, protecting and leading the herd.
Maud
One of the toughest, but most gentle of all our cows. Maud, meaning “powerful battler” in Scottland, got her name after being in accident that most wouldn’t survive, but she made it out fine. She’s a beautiful and rare dun colour, with great mother instincts and great genetics. She’s raising her second calf at Yonder currently.
